Resizing by pixels locks the aspect ratio by default, so you only need to enter a width — the height is calculated automatically based on that image's own original proportions, avoiding distortion. If you manually unlock the aspect ratio and specify both width and height, the image will be stretched to match your settings and may look distorted. Resizing by percentage always scales proportionally and never distorts. When choosing a preset size, the tool automatically crops off anything beyond the preset's ratio (centered) to guarantee the output is exactly that pixel size — it never stretches, though some content around the edges may get cropped. Yes. Enlarging essentially estimates new pixels through interpolation — the smaller the original resolution and the larger the scale-up factor, the more noticeable the blur becomes; this isn't true quality enhancement. The “Only shrink” option, checked by default, automatically skips any target size larger than the original, keeping it unchanged and avoiding blur from upscaling.
There's no fixed limit — you can select multiple images at once and batch-resize them all to the same dimensions. The number you can actually process is mainly limited by your device's memory and performance; we recommend keeping individual images under 20MB.
Resizing essentially redraws and re-encodes the image: PNG's transparency channel is preserved, but if the original has transparent areas and is detected as needing JPG encoding, those areas will be filled with a white background. The original's EXIF capture parameters, location, and other metadata are not preserved after re-encoding — if you need to view or remove EXIF data specifically, use the “EXIF Viewer/Remover” tool.
